Cheryll - just curious to know if you've made any headway with your McBeath/McBeth family.Family lore has it that my McBeth family arrived on the Prince of Wales in 1813.Andrew McBeath and Jannet McDonald, came from Borobal, Kildonan, Sct andtheir son, John McBeath was born at Red River in 1814 or 1815.Also on board the ship were William and Mararet Sutherland, who later had a daugther, Catherine Sutherland. These families soon left the Red River settlement and moved overland to Ontario.
In Ontario, John McBeath married Catherine Sutherland.First confirmed mention of Ontario is their son's marriage certificate which mentions his birthplace as Wellington county Ontario in 1860.Robert Sutherland McBeth married Ellen Frame in RM of Woodworth, MB Jun 3 1886.Many McBeths settled in the area of Oak Lake MB around this time.
Anything seem to fit? Some of Robert's siblings - Donald (Dan), Margaret, Christina, Jane McKay, Catherine, William --- there may have been more but those are the ones I've been able to connect.
