ELISHA MCBRIDE was born in 1753 and died in 1803 in the Camden County, North Carolina area. I have a copy of his will. His mother was Elizabeth Riggs. Their children were SARAH (SALLY), PETER, NANCY, POLLY, BETSY, JOSEPH, and JAMES.
SARAH (SALLY) married JAMES PEARCE in South Mills, Camden County, N.C. around 1790. They had at least these six children: Poly b 1796, John b. 1800 - d. 1875, Ira b 1805 - d 1876, Samuel b. 1812 - d 1876, Jeremiah Simmons b. 1817 - d. 1869, and Elisha.
I’m related to JAMES PEARCE who was a son of SAMUEL PEARCE and BETTY SIMMONS. He was born in Little Compton or Warren, Rhode Island in 1765. James’ siblings in Rhode Island were Phepe, Priscilla, Jeremiah, Joseph, Samuel, Mary, Abigail, and John.
Some of the R.I. sources indicate that James’ brother John lived with him in N.C. for 2 years. A John Pearce married POLLY MCBRIDE in N.C. He apparently moved back to Warren R.I. after she died around 1794.
I have extensive data on the R.I. Pearce family and James’ children, some of whom moved to Tennessee and Arkansas in a Family Tree Maker file. Also, I have some data on the McBrides in Camden County from land sale records.
I would love to get more data on ELISHA MCBRIDE’s lineage.
