John, I have not seen the book you mention, but would be very interested to see it.I will check my local library for it.I believe there might be a connection here, and that the John McCall you refer to may have been my John's father.You see I have no info on my 6ggrandfather John McCall, as to date of birth, but his will was probated in 1812 in Lincoln County, NC.
I am descended from his daughter Nancy who married Captain Benjamin Newton on 24 Jan.1775.It is this Newton connection you mention being in this book that makes me think this is my McCall.
I thank you very much and any other info you think might be helpful would be very much appreciated.I am new at this and having much fun but it is difficult.
