Hi Ron, just this month found that my grgrgrandfather, Hugh McCall's older brother Pleasant Moment McCall, joined the Army of the Confederacy at Hunt Co. Texas 8 Aug. 1862 at age 15.He was in James Burnet's Battalion 1st Texas Sharpshooters. i found this info on Cyndi's List..Thank you Cyndi, for being such a help to thousands of us!
I have been searching for Grandfather Hugh's family for years..and how thrilled I was to find this as well as a census record 1870 for him in Dallas Co. Texas. He was 24 yrs old at that time...still searching to find what happened to him...some of the records that I received state that he was taken Union Prisoner....
Morale of the story, never give up!
