Looking for whatever can be found on Owen (also known as Eugene but did not use that name) McCarroll of Corkhill, County Tyrone;Own was the son of Eugene and Catherine (farmers) and born about 1840. He married Catherine McCusker of Augharonan, Co. Tyrone, whose father was Patrick; they were wed on June 25, 1867 in Donacavey. They had a number of children: Ellen 1871 - 1917, married Andrew Bogan; Patrick (the Yank)1873 - ?; Thomas 1875 - ?, married to Catherine (Kitty) Daly (Daley?) and emigrated to USA; Owen 1877 - ?, married Brigid Conroy in Beragh; Michael Joseph (Mickey) 1879 - 1924, naturalized in 1904 and married to Agnes Bridget Gaffigan in Dundalk, Ireland, July 1912; Jane 1871, and Hugh 1883. The family farm was removed about 1982 and is possibly owned by Devines. The resting place is the RC Church in Eskragh.
Catherine McCusker's father was Patrick and she was born about 1846 - 1851, married at "full age" but there is a discrepency for the 1911 census lists her as a 60 yr old widow but the 1901 census listed as a 45 year old widow. She had a possible sibling: John McCusker of Legmaghery.
Also looking for information on the Gaffigans who had emigrated to San Francisco, California, sometime before 1879. John (possibly, Amos was middle name) was born about 1858; informants state he was the son of a Royal Horse trader by the name of John who was married to Sarah Amos. Young John was possibly born in Scotland, but raised in Tyrone. He was a painter by trade, and he naturalized as a USA citizen in 1879. He married Catherine (Kitty) Daly, and they resided on Diamond Street, San Francisco, in 1914; and possibly he was a union leader. He returned to Ireland, possibly to see his grandson Michael, because he was manifested on the Cameronia in 1914 for his return trip. They had a daughter Agnes Bridget who was born in 1891, who left for Ireland to be married in 1912 to Mickey McCarroll, who was a publican on Main Street in Fintona before his death.
Children of Andrew Bogans (Ellen) still are in the Fintona area, while some have moved on to Dublin. The Donnellys live in Curr, Beragh and are related to Owen McCarroll and Brigid Conroy. The Coady family, who owe their lineage to Ellen and Andrew Bogan reside in the Dublin area.
There is more, but that gives the reader the flavor of the kinship of Owen McCarroll. Any help you can give in sorting this thing out would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, jim carroll
