Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Thanks for the reply, Daniela. I will pass the dna info on to my husband...I'm sure he'll be interested. It's been a very long time since I posted my original message and since then I've been able to find out quite a bit about my husband's particular McCarroll line. Unless the ancestors are related in Ireland, he probably descends from a different line than you do. His ancestors that immigrated to the US from the vicinity of Balleymoney, Ireland were Archibald & Mary McCarroll. They came over abt. 1831 and settled briefly in Philadelphia. Eventually they relocated to the VA/WV area. Arch & Mary settled near Brucetown, VA and their son, Arch, Jr., (part of my husband's direct line) settled in the Charles Town, WV area. Arch & Mary had MANY children (nine, that we know of), but I'm not aware of any connection to the Grayson Co. McCarrolls, Canadian McCarrolls, or the TX McCarrolls. Please let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks again!
