John C. McCauley Sr. & Alice Delaney -

Seeking info. on the family of Timothy Delaney/Delany and wife, Alice Purcell, both born about 1826 in Ireland. The family supposedly emmigrated from Ireland, landed in Canada and then migrated into Vermont then to New York State. Tim's naturalization papers indicate he came to the U.S. in June 1846. Sons, Patrick and possibly Edward were born in Vermont. By 1855 the family was living in Cobleskill, Schoharie Co., NY. They had the following children: Patrick Henry, Edward, Timothy Jr., Jane, Anna, Alice, Ellen, and Catherine (Kate). Tim Sr. is assumed as having died between 1865-1870 in the Cobleskill area based on census info. His wife was remarried to Patrick Kinney by 1870 and eventually they removed to Albany, New York. Son, Patrick Henry married Margaret Ann Fitzgerald and moved to Oneida, Madison Co., NY, Edward, for unknown reasons changed his surname to Purcell and moved from Schoharie Co. to Eaton, in Madison Co. to farm. Timothy Jr., a saloon owner moved to New York City. The daughters moved from Cobleskill to the Albany & Watervliet areas of NYS. Daughters married as follows: Jane (Unknown), Anna married Timothy Luddy, Ellen married John T. Mace, Alice married John C. MacCauley Sr., and "Kate" married Peter McCarthy.

Any info. sincerely appreciated.
