I have information that may be of interest to you. I am a descendant of Ezekial Griffin McCauley, son of John McCauley Sr. I have not seen any documentation that John was a sibling to William and Matthew. I do have the following in my files.
from A PARTIAL HISTORY OF THE MCCAULEY FAMILY
written by John Joseph McCauley in the year 1908
"There was quite a colony of McCauleys came from Ireland and settled in North Carolina, all being related. A great many have changed the spelling of their name to McAuley and the yourger generations do not know that the two names are the same and that they spring from the same stock of people"
received from J L McCauley Jr 3 Dec 1998

I have a gedcom with all the information I have gathered on William and Matthew and their descendants with the sources of my information. I will email it to you if you are interested and can use a gedcom.

I am interested in "One McCauley Family Who Came to Texas". How could I obtain a copy? Do you know who put it together?

Hope to hear from you.
