Frank M. Dukes
Frank M. Dukes, 91, a resident
of Englewood for 73 years, died
Thursday in his home, 5110 S.
Halsted st.
Mr. Dukes, a Republican pre-
cinct captain in the 17th ward
for 50 years, was born March
27, 1870, and came to Chicago at
the age of 18.
His wife, Laura M. (nee
Veirs), died at the age of 83,
Oct. 9, 1958.
They had lived in the home,
6825 S. Parnell ave. for 25
years, moving to 6838 S. Lowe
ave. and also residing there for
25 years.
After his wife’s death, Mr.
Dukes moved to 5110 S. Halsted
st., residing there for the past
two years.
Services were held in the
chapel yesterday, 2165 W. 95th
st.
He is survived by a son
George Dukes of Roseland; four
daughters, Mr. Dorothy Bren-
nan, Mrs. Eileen Miller, Mrs.
Margaret Swearingen and Mrs.
Gladys Beck of Hollywood, Fla.,
14 grandchildren, and 19 great-
grandchildren.
Burial was in Evergreen
Cemetery, Evergreen Park.
