Klapp & McCauley families of Philadelphia

Although this is the McCauley forum, the family group posted here is more conveniently centered on Paul Klapp, especially since his wife's parents lived with him for several years. Here are some of my partially-disorganized thoughts on this family.
Based on what I've seen so far, it seems that Paul Klapp's full name was Paul Shirley Devereux Klapp, or Paul Shirley Deveraux Klapp. Although there are a few peculiarities (name) and inconsistencies (birthplace), I believe that he has been correctly identified, as appears clear from the evidence below.
He appears on the 1920 census (as "Shirley Klapp") in Precinct 13, Ward 11, St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota; microfilm roll 855, p. 243; Enumeration District 140 (?), sheet 19B. He was living at 1795 James St. with his wife, daughter, and an additional child, son William (born 1909/10). Also residing there is his mother-in-law Margaret McCauley, and sister-in-law Catherine McCauley. There is a World War I draft card for "Shirley Deveraux Klapp", residence 1795 James, born 1 April 1879.

Although the 1920 census says that he was born in North Dakota, the 1910 census (Robbinsdale, Hennepin County, Minnesota; microfilm roll 699, p. 48; Enumeration District 5, sheet 3B) says that he was born in England and immigrated in 1884. There is an entry in FreeBMD (
His connection to me is through marriage. His wife, Suzanne Urban McCauley, was my great-great-grandaunt. Her mother, Margaret McCauley, was born Margaret Meenaghan 8 June 1841 in Belmullet, County Mayo, Ireland, and died 28 November 1925 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, according to her death certificate. "S D Klapp" was the informant. I am reluctant to identify her father, Cornelius McCauley, with the man of that name who died in 1910. In several city directories for the years before 1910, Margaret McCauley is stated to be the widow of Cornelius, yet a Cornelius is also listed. In light of this, I think that there's still a possibility that there were two Corneliuses.
Cornelius and Margaret had Suzanne and 6 other children known to me, and possibly an eighth child who died young. My line is throught Suzanne's sister Margaret Grace (McCauley) Huebner (born between 1861 and 1868, depending on the source; died 1936) and her son Eugene William Hebner (1889/90-1989). Margaret married Albert August Huebner (1874-1944) in 1897, but it is unclear who Eugene's biological father was. Many of the descendants of this McCauley family lived in Minnesota, particularly Hennepin County.
