Ray, I saw you had followed up to a post talking about Tyrone, Ireland McCausland family people and thought I would see if your email still worked. Just got the mailer-daemon failure so it didn't... I was just lucky enough to find out one of my maternal great-grandmothers was an Eliza McCausland, at some point in her life living in the Tyrone area in Ireland. She may be named Eliza Dennis McCausland. That is how she was listed on a record transcription--and though she married a Francis Dennis (who was a blacksmith) sometime before 1873--the popularity of marrying one's cousins back then makes us realize that Dennis could be a middle name as well as her married surname. They had 4 children who came to America and all called themselves Dennison here??? don't know why??? Henrietta M., Mildred, Anna and James Francis (also a blacksmith) and my over 90 year old Great Aunt Emma "Denny" Dennison Cuthbert told me on Easter Sunday 2000 that she thought there were at least 6-7 total children in the family but she didn't know if any died young or just didn't want to make the big leap to the New World. James F. was the father of my maternal grandmother. I learned from this Aunt Emma that his mother lived into her nineties, lived on a "bachelor farm", that she thought James got to go back to Ireland and visit her once but the three sisters she thought never got to go back to visit. All four of them always sent money back to Ireland. In America all lived in and around the area of Ellisburg in upstate New York once they were married. The three sisters all married farmers. Mildred (who died fairly young, (leaving 2 children I think and her husband remarried) and Henrietta married two Colwell brothers and Ann married Henry A. Corse ( who someone has done quite an impressive public tree on that line on the genforum from genealogy.com). If you have info on this Eliza Dennis McCausland/ Eliza McCausland Dennis or know anyone who might please feel free to forward or even reply! I will put this on the genforum for that McCausland inquiry for Tyrone as well. Thank you, Terri Dance My lineage back to her being: Mother: Jane Frances Dennison Buschgen, daughter of Isobel Dennison, daughter of James Francis Dennison, son of Francis Dennis and Eliza Dennis McCausland. Stuck here on this line! Notify Administrator about this message?
