Dear Barbara,
I saw your posting on the McCaw webpage.Here is some information for you.
I thank Carolyn Golowka, who is the
contact person for the Lowndes County, Alabama, genealogy web page for kindly sending me the information about the marriages.
I think that your Rebecca Caroline McCaw was the older daughter
of John J. McCaw and his wife Elizabeth.They migrated from South
Carolina in 1837/38 (records show a land purchase in Lowndes Co AL
in 1837).Also, Susan McCaw who married in 1841 may be another older daughter of this family.
I descend from one of the younger daughters, Julia A., who married Thomas H. Weeks and went to live in Jefferson County, Georgia.
