ATTENTION McCleary/McLeary/McCLarey/McClary/McLary RESEARCHERS
• Have you hit a brick wall?
• Do you have a living male McCleary (or alternate spelling) in your line?
• If so, please encourage them to participate in the McCleary DNA Study that is growing. We have tested 11 men.Five men have fallen into one group whose DNA indicates that they have a common ancestor.Three men have established another line and three men are waiting for a match that is close enough to show that they have a common ancestor.Several of the men tested have DNA that matches the DNA of men from County Antrim, Ireland.
• A DNA test for genealogical purposes is quite simple.A cheek swab is all that is needed for you and your researching cousins to help add another piece to the puzzle or connect some dots. For less than two hundred dollars you can have 43 markers tested through Relative Genetics. The more markers that match between two men, the closer their common ancestor.
Having been involved in four separate DNA studies, I can tell you that they work.It takes a lot of cousins with documented information to make it work, however.
We need your help!!Please let us know if you have someone with a McCleary surname who is willing to test.
