Any chance that the Robert Mcclary/Mccleary of whom you wrote, had a brother John b. 1765 Lancaster Co. (that pt that became either Cumberland or York)? John, my gg. grandfather was the youngest of maybe seven brothers and the first to leave the Newville, PA area about 1790 with wife Elizabeth Ewing McClarey.John and a number of allied familiy members travelled down the Shenenandoa Vallely, perhaps by the Great Wagon Road, possibly visiting kin in Virginia and the Carolinas before taking up bounty land in Georgia.Later, in about 1809 John and others settled in Middle TN. Not positive, but have some information to suggest that John's father and grandfather respectively were Michael and Thomas, Thomas being the susposed emigrant from N. Ireland.
