You should also check the names McLeary, McCleary and Mclary. The spelling varies so much. Also, if you are going to Ireland, you need to check on Scottish immigrants. The Scott-Irish are those that migrated to Ireland before leaving to go to various other countries.

In Ireland you should also check for another variation of the name, McCleric. I always thought my family was Irish until I started the search, then I found out we were actually Scottish, that sure cleared up a lot of the road blocks I kept running into.
