Trying to trace back a bit further on my McClatchey side. My GrGrandfather also was Thomas Jefferson McClatchey and was married to Tulula Jane Cochran as you note. I have his father as Robert McClatchey married to Susan Brownfield but that is as far as I go on the McClatchey side. Do you have any additional information who Robert McClatchey parents were? Some of our info suggests he ran off. Does anyone know why or when?
Also, through Susan Brownfield we have info complied from Alice Jenkins that traces the Brownfields back to the Revolutionary War and War of 1812 and wondered if anyone has used that to apply for DAR. Your Alice is the sister of my Grandmother Lola McClatchey Miska. I had heard that my GrAunt Alice Jenkins had applied for DAR but never heard anymore about it.
