wife Rachel McClay; eldest son James; two daus Nancy and
Mary; youngest son, John; brother William McClay; brothers-
in-law James Moody, William Moody and Isaac Moody. Exec.
William McClay (brother) Isaac Moody (brother-in-law).

Wililam McClay exex along with Salmon Maxwell on will of
John Shurmizer N.C. Hd, Jul 1, 1787, 21 Aug 1787. M, 274.
wife Mary; four children Catherine, Jacob, Elizabeth and
Mary.
pg 133?:
William McClay, Aug 7, 1794, Sep 16, 1794, O,4; Wife
Frances; dausL Mary, Sarah and Eliza; sons: William,
Samuel, John and Robert; Mary's husband, Thomas Moore.
Exec Wife, Frances and William McMechen.
Many of the names I have seen in the book on-line at
ancestry.com - are the same as the ones I have found
while researching "our" area of KY- who came from/
passed through Va on their way to Ky. Even found a
French in Delaware which probably came from St Marys
Co, Md, too.
Also found McClays in Chester Co, Pa wills 1713-1825.

out in landscape] L5. To daughter Margaret wife of James
McClay L5. To daughter Anna wife of David Jenkins L5. to
daughter Jemima w--- McCarty 20 shillings. To daughter
Keziah Pugh L5. All remainer to wife Jemima Pugh, also
Executrix.
There is several other references to William McClay but
no will yet.
Will go back and see if I can get a line on the Moody men
mentioned above.
