I looked through the first message I sent. I made several errors. 1st Nathaniel Bartley/Bartlett Sisson was born 16 Sep, 1868 in Romance, White County, Arkansas, not CA.
His mothers name was Nancy or Jane McClennen born in AL.
I recently found a Nancy McClennen, b 1836 in Georgia to a John and Elizabeth McClennen. The 1860 census hes this family living in Alabama.I'm hoping that anyone reading this knows something about Nancy and her family. I nedd to know whether or not she is my great grandmother. Nathaniel's father is Franklin Sisson from Mississippi.
Nathaniel died 11 Aug, 1904 in Pangburn, White County AR.
His wife Mary S and children,James Porter, Allie Mae, maude Ethel, William Franklin and Margarett Elizabeth are correct. Nathaniel said he has an aunt "Georgeann McKay" I found a georgeann McKay whose maiden names is GILL. Georgeann Gill was born 1866- 1867, also in Romance, AR. I believe this is my great aunt.
She married William Henry McKay. Georgeann's father is William Franklin Gill. My father, the son on Nathaniel is also William Franklin. My grandfather, Nathaniel said his son William called "Frank" was named after his grandfather, so--it apppears then that one of Georgeann's sisters, or one of Georgeann's aunt married my great grandfather, Franklin Sisson, born Mississippi.
New information reveals that Franklin Sisson in Morrilton AR belongs to another Sisson line, also from Alabama, but he is from a different DNA line totally unrelated to my Sisson line.
I did find a "Cisson" (which could have been Sisson at one time)related to georgeann Gill.
maybe some of the surnames would be the married name of Nancy or some of her sisters. I would be very appreciative of any help,
Elizabeth (Sisson) McGhee
