Pat, I am interested in your message indicating that there was evidence of a John McClannen in PA near the NY border. What was your source for this info? What was the time frame?

My gggrandfather was John McClenin who was born somewhere in Pa about 1817. He lived in NY city in 1850 and then in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1860, where he died in 1864. He was a sosp and candlemaker and married a Katherine Maloney from Canada. I am stuck as to where in PA he was born.
