I am searching for another John McCloskey in the Dungiven area, probably born ca. 1780, m. Mary Devine, oldest son James born ca. 1800. Youngest son Bernard b. ca. 1825; in between were John, Patrick, Michael, Samuel and Jane. John senior is said to have held the Brae Face Tavern in the Leek (Leck) townland about halfway between Dungiven and Limavady. I am interested in the comment about the McCloskeys as erenachs of church lands--can you direct me to more information on this point?
