I have one Thomas McCloskey born in County Derry, Ireland in 1842 who was not killed at Gettysburg.
You can try going to the National Archives in Washington, DC and looking at all the McCloskey (and spelling variations) Civil War Pension files to see if they mention where they were born. To get them photocopied would be prohibitively expensive.
