Cardinal McCloskey's sister Mary McCloskey lived in Pittsburgh. Although some say she was a cousin and not a sister. The Ryans believe she was his sister.

In any event, she was married to James Felix Ryan. James' brother was Bishop Stephen V Ryan of Buffalo NY. The connection is very clear on this between the McCloskey's and Ryan's. The Warner, Selznick, McCloskey, Wallace, O'Hara, Denny and St Clair families all lived in Pittsburgh at one time or the other.

The Warner Brothers Studios was located in Pittsburgh from 1895 to about 1922. Most but not all of the familis moved to Burbank California around that 1922 time frame.

It was said that many of these families went to the gold fields of California under the leadership of General Alexander Hays. Ft Hays Kansas was named after Alexander Hays.
