I guess I'm getting old. Trying to answer my own questions.
But, let's face it. I re-read some of what I have on the McColgins, Vaughn, Moore and came up with some new data on the McColgins.
Precisely that John McColgin married Grissel Handley in 1791 in Nelson County, Kentucky with Grissel the daughter of James Handley formerly of Virginia.
In 1817, James Handley made his will in Washington County where he lived on the Rolling Fork. In his Will, James names his son, James Handley and his son-in-law John McColgin as co-Executors of his will. This would presumably still leave John in Washington County at that time. Now, we know that about that same time James McColgin & William McColgin purchased land in Green County, KY from a man in Albemarle County, Virginia.
That would seem to indicate that John & Grissel's children probably married in Washington, Nelson, Green, Hart, Boyle, Mercer, or Casey County. It is presumed that Thomas McColgin married Sarah Hayes, born c1798, about 1812/3 with her first dau Mary/Polley born c1813/4 & married in 1829 in Hamlton County, IL. The second marriage of Sarah [Hayes] McColgin, widow of Thomas, to William Vaughn should be in one of those same counties circa 1825, give or take a year or two. Does anyone have any pertinent data to add to this? HELP! Charley
