My g-great grandfather changed it to Mccolgin and his bro. kept the Mccolgan and move to Okla. and became the govenor there.I live in ST.Louis & there are a few in the phone book that are spelled like Mccolgan my aunt says they are cusions one of them works on the fire i have some of the family history it goes back to the early 1700,s Like EDWAD MCCOLGAN he came from CO,DONEGAL,IRELAND married Maryann before 1758,in Williamsburg.He died in 1812,in Green CO.Kentucky they were both born in Ireland.they had six kids were,MARY,JOHN,ANNA,JAMES,WILLIAM,GRIZZA.MARYmarried a Lindsay ,Anna married a (JAMES SKAGGS),Grizza married (WM.CARLILE).wE HAVE A W.H.MCCOLGIN & he was a rev. in MO.& so was John F. Mccolgin & his son was also one to.THE WILDWOOD CHURCH & THERE WAS A DOCTOR was DR.JAMES T. MCCOLGAN they lived in TENNESSEE,VIRGINIA,KENTUCKY he attended Trinty College & another one .

Got to go now i have a hole lot more.
