Hello, You mentioned in your lineage that your ancestors settled in Ontario in 1820's, would they have been one large family? One widow with many children? I have been trying step across the ocean to Scotland, but cannot find where my McColl's are from.

The mother was named Elizabeth, her husband was Hugh McColl, and he had one brother that moved around with him called Alexander. Their father was Hugh McColl whose death was the reason the family imigrated. The rest of the famiy may have remained in Northumberland or scattered. The brothers moved to Peterborough County, Ont. where Hugh settled & married.

Another sibling may have been Samuel.

I can supply more information to help confirm if there is any connection.

Thank-you for your time,
Ula
