Where were these people in the USA? What did they do for a living? Did any of the 10 brothers and sisters come to the USA? Dig for as much info as you can - find out about the Goodwin family - sometimes side-lines produce information - also look at the middle name
Connolly - perhaps that is a clue -
There are several sites for people in Scotland -

A map of clans indicates that the Connells and Connals were part of the MacDonald Clan which was on Isle of Skye. Perhaps that is a clue of the origin of the family - also spelled MacConnell part of MacDonald Clan -
