Hello Syd
There was a family named McColl who settled at New Glasgow in about 1827. They originated in Kilmory, Ardnamurchan, Argyllshire, Scotland. In 1837 the family appear to have migrated and settled in Westminster Twp, Middlesex Co, Ontario. Other members of the family migrated in 1841, settling mainly in Westminster Twp.
Please search this listing for my other postings on this family, then contact me via email.
If it is the correct McColl family, your John S McColl was raised by his bachelor uncle Samuel McColl and lived on lot 11, concession 7 Westminster Twp.
