WELCOME ! Welcome to the McColl forum! We are a big clan with lots of history. I was only tonight reviewing some of the History of Ancient Ireland and the Mac Couill dynasty. There were mythical peoples called "gods" and our McColl's
may have come from them, after moving to Scotland. My own McColls were around Glasgow area and not wealthy at all - cobblers and such - they also were farmers and moved to Vermont, USA and then branched out. My grandfather
was born in San Francisco, california in 1860 - we don't know how his father and mother moved there from VT - must be an interesting story indeed.
Glad to have your info and fascinated that you are living in Bogata.
Enjoy your life there and hope your wedding is most festive and happy!
"Cousin" Jean McColl Coleman of South Carolina, USA.
Interestingly enough, my daughter married a Sweet, they are divorced now, but
her children have the Sweet name, not Coleman....
McColl is a big name in South Carolina - Hugh McColl being the one who used to head Bank of America in Charlotte - but I am no kin to that clan.
Lots of McColls in North Carolina also - but not my clan.
