Looking for information on Josiah (Joseph) McColm (1834-1897), of Ireland and Belleville, PA. See details below.

Also looking for information on ancestors and descendants of his son, Charles Sankey McColm, b. 1857 and d. 1929 in Belleville, PA. Charles' parents were Joseph "Josiah or Jessie" McColm and Mary Ann Sankey (or Sinkey) of Ireland and later of that area. Josiah (Joseph) McColm was born in 1834 and died in 1897. Josiah McColm apparently served as a Sgt. in the Civil War, Co. M, 161st Regiment, PUC, in 1865. Charles S. McColm had a brother, Emery F. McColm, who married Rebecca "Becky" J. Lytle, of Allensville, PA, on February 3, 1881.

Charles Sankey McColm married Amanda Elizabeth Withers on December 31, 1882. She was the daughter of Henry and Mary (Baker) Withers, and lived in Allensville and Belleville, Mifflin Co., PA, and later Huntingdon Co., PA. She was born in 1859 and died in 1927.

Charles S. and Amanda (Withers) McColm had several children including; (1) Mary Ethel McColm (1882-1955) who married John Baum Geibel (1879-1942) in 1905; (2) Margaret C. McColm who married Mr. Young; (3) Jessie D. McColm who married Bruce M. Warner; and (4) Charles R. McColm.

Any information this MCCOLM, SANKEY, WITHERS, LYTLE, or GEIBEL connection will be appreciated. Bruce Burgee Geibel, Jasper, GA, bgeibel@tds.net.
