Hi everyone! It's always nice to see a new family posting site. I don't actively research this family, but thought I'd share what I have. Maybe it can help somebody else. My uncle was Walter McColm. I've got his death date around here somewhere, but not on the papers in front of me. He had Multiple Sclerosis, and quit working in 1953. I was born in 1957, so I never saw him in anything other than a wheelchair. His mother took care of him until she was well into her 90s, since he was estranged from my aunt. They didn't divorce until years later, after his mother had passed away.
Walter Gilman McColm was born March 10, 1916 in Griggs County, North Dakota. His siblings were Mae(Johnson), Raymond, Erwin, Bud, Arvid, and Donald. I have birth dates, and some death dates if anybody needs them. I think all of them are buried in Tacoma, Washington. I also have the marriage details for Walt, but this is a McColm posting site. Ask, if you are interested. The immediate family alread has this. If you care, I'll share.
Walt's parents were Arthur Valentine McColm and Amelia Siverina Lotvit. Arthur was born June 7, 1883, in Shelby County, Illinois. He died May 18, 1962 in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Amelia was born January 2, 1886 in Griggs County, North Dakota. She died April 22, 1984. (I did meet her once, back in the 70s) Arthur and Amelia were married in Adams County, Ohio, but the date that I have is obviously wrong.
Arthur's parents were David McColm and Mary Ann Rollins. They had one other son besides Arthur, and his name was Frank. (Perhaps the date that I have of April 6, 1861 in Adams County, Ohio belongs to David and Mary Ann's marriage) David McColm died in March of 1904, in Lakefield, Minnesota.
Amelia's parents were Ole Lotvit and Anna Ambrose. Her siblings were Lena, Emma, Annie, and Nettie. Ole Lotvit died in 1900, in Cooperstown, North Dakota. Anna Ambrose McColm died in 1922, in Griggs County, North Dakota.
That's about all I have. Perhaps it can give someone some leads on where to be looking though, since the McColm spelling is not very common.
Duane David, Seattle, Washington
