You Might try looking in Henry,Henry Co.,TN that is where Shelldrake McCOMBS whs born. here is some info I have it might help. I do have more,and will post it as i dig through it
I remembered that I had a message from someone or I found somewhere that Shadrake McCombs
father of Richard McCombs had two brothers and thought I would share it with you all.
his Brothers names were Major McCombs and George Martin McCombs brothers to
Shadrake McCombs .Hope this helps someone. It came from U.S. census 1880 page 130
[51991] Shadrake born 1778, Major McCombs born 1783 George Martin McCombs born 1785

Found my papers and I will type you what I have kind of long :
Sheldrake sold his land to his brotjher on Brushy Creek Major McCombs
at Rutherford County, North Carolina on 13 April 1829. The price was $l000.
Neighbors were Martin Ervine and Richard Moore. Sheldrake was listed as a resident
of Fayette County Georgia. He bought Indenture from an unknown person at East half of
Lot 9-179, Fayette County Georgia in 1829 Sheldrake was listed as the head of a family
on the 1830 Census at Fayette County, Georgia . Sheldrake McCombs Male 50-60 Sheldrake
registered to pay taxes at Fayette County, Georgia in 1831 Lot 9-179 was in Fayette
County but Lot 17-603 was in Muscogee County The court named him to supervise
the apprenticeship of John F. Moore , Elizabeth P. Moore and George W. Moore at
Fayette County Georgia on 2 July 1832 He bought indenture from unknow person at
Lot 22-178 of 202.5 acres Harris County, Georgia on 123 September 1832 John M.Smith sold
202.5 acres in Harris County , formerly in Muskogee County He was census 1850 free on
15 October 1850 at District 27 Hamilton County Tennessee Sheldrake listed owership of
one female black slave 37 years old Sheldrake died after 1851 at Hamilton County
Tennessee Children of Sheldrake McCombs and ? McCombs. Richard McCombs 24 Apr 1795 -24
Apr 1862 , William McCombs 09 nov 1800- 15Aug 1851 Judith McCombs c 1810 ?McCombs bt
1811 1820 ?mcCombs 1811-1820 , Wesley McCombs 1822 Sheldrakes brothers were Major
McCombs, and Martin McCombs there was one more . but cant remember his name.Richards
wife was Mary Ann Ollie Martha Nell Lavine she was the one who drown in the Guadulupe
River in Gonzales co. Richard died in Bexar co San Antonio Texas.
