I came across some interesting things while doing a search on Drusilla McCombs, daughter of George Martin McCombs. Apparently she never married and moved around to live among various relatives after her parents died as she was in a different household in every census after 1860, and last census shows her in Cherokee Co., SC, and then no more of her. In one of the households where she was living, in Polk County, the next door neighbor head of household was Minor McCombs. I did a search on him and came up with nothing on, even though that's the site I found him on the census. Does anyone else think this Minor McCombs might have a connection to Major McCombs? I also found a Major McCombs buried in Shelby, b. 1883, another relative of the elder Major I would think.
