In case you've not already checked it out, the website www.mcconville.org contains a lot of interesting information. Just click on the links for information on the McConville name. I went to the 2002 McConville gathering in Ireland. A local explained about the name and that once upon a time it was written with two parallel lines below the first "c." I don't remember exactly what those little lines meant, but I know that my maiden name McCullough included the two parallel lines below the lower case c. If you determine the meaning of the lines, I'm interested.
