Does anyone know in which year starting the letters Mc were left of the family name McConville and for what reason and if there is a connection to the name Conwill and the other above listed subject names : Conville , Conwill , Conwell , Cromwell , Cornwell , Cornwall ? Is there a connection to George Washington King Conwill born abt. 1805 ? He died abt. 1882 in itawamba county Mississippi. He is also listed in the mormon genealogy at www. as George Washington King Conwell. What was the name Mcconville before the letters Mc were used ? In which year and where did the name come from ? Information posted as is without liability. Message posted July 11, 2005 by Darrell Dietrich Conwell.
