Wisconsin McCords and Shipleys
Am looking for a connection to the MCCORDS who married into the SHIPLEY family.I have a Martha Ricks, b. 1828, England, but by the 1850s she was living in Boscobel, Grant Co. Wis.She married Henry Havens (I have no date); they had a daughter, Mary E. Havens, b. 15 Apr. 1848 in New York (probably Allen, Alleganey Co., where her parents settled first after coming over from Purton, Wiltshire, Eng. in 1836.The entire Isaac and Jane Ricks family, plus all of their children, some of who were already married, moved to Grant Co. WI in the early 1850s).Mary Havens married a James K MCCORD CW, b. 1845 Grant Co., WI. Their children were:
Robert W. MCCORD, b. Dec. 1868 in Marietta, Crawford, WI; Sophronia E. MCCORD, b. 1871, Marietta, etc.; Francis Erwin MCCORD, b. 6 Aug. 1874, Marietta, etc.; Roland MCCORD, b. 1877, Marietta; William R. MCCORD, b. 30 Jan 1881, WI; Nathaniel Cooper MCCORD,b. 16 Apr. 1884, Boscobel,Grant Co., WI.
I believe that THIS James K. MCCORD CW (what does "CW" mean?) was the son of Walker MCCORD, b. 1798/1799 in Westmoreland or Mercer, PA; his mother was Jane or Jennet Chestnut (Jennie) CALDWELL-MORE, b. 1803 in OH.
My question is this:Is this MCCORD family in any way related to the David MCCORD who married Ann Shipley, leading to a relationship to the Hanks and Lincoln families?
I would be so very grateful for any and all info and/or advice.
Many thanks.Sally
