I'm from Oxford, England. My Grandmother (who died a few years ago aged 95) was Anna McCort and she told me that her family came from Ireland. I think it was the West coast - maybe Clare or Mayo. Anyway, her grandfather went to the USA and built a farmhouse, (which later burned down). The McCorts that I know of lived in Claresville Ohio and other places. When my grandmother married, she became a Mahoney. I think there might still be some McCorts in Claresville, I don't know, but would love to find out. My mother who is English met my father when he was based here at the end of ww2. Grandmother had a sister who was a nun and called Sister Jerome.

Hope this is of some interest to you.
