I have correspondence back in 1978 with Hazel, the daughter of Charles whom I'm sure you know or knew. She put me in touch with a descendent of Newton in Maryland. She sent me some info in two letters (the last in 1982) which will help you. E-mail me your mailing address and I'll send copies.
See my query on the forum. John, son of John had a son Martin who "came from Pittsburg in 1837" Martin had two sons, one named Ephraim. I don't think thats coincidence. I look forward to exchanging info.
