Re: McCredie of Girvan, Scotland, 1700s

Dear All,

I am trying to find a connection between my David Dean(e) of Donaghadee, Co. Down, Ireland (circa 1720-1795) and John, David and Anne McCredie of Gallow Hill, Girvan who are mentioned in his will as being his cousins.

David Dean(e)'s parents were Alexander Dean(e) and Grizell Kennedy both of whom are alleged to have come from Ayrshire themselves. Grizell is supposed to be a descendant of the Kennedys of Cassillis/Ballycultra. Her father was probably Jas (James) Kennedy and she had a brother Hugh (Hew) Kennedy.

Does any of this tie in with anybody else's research? If so then I'd love to hear from you.

Cheers,

Paul
