Fitzgerald McCready family's Donegal - Can/US
Posted by: Benjamin Date: January 18, 2002 at 13:06:10

I am looking for any information on the family of James Fitzgerald (b. circa 1810 Ramelton, Co. Donegal, IRE). He had 6 sisters (Betty (m Hugh Alcorn), Kate (m. Crandell Bunnell), Eliza (m. Thomas Downey), Lucy Ann (m. James Wilson) , Mary (m. William Martin) and Margaret (Joseph Martin)). And 1 brother ( John (m. Violet McCready). James Fitzgerald married Margaret McCready (b. circa 1810 Ramelton, Co. Donegal, IRE, Violet’s sister). Margaret had 3 sisters, Violet (m. John Fitzgerald), Elizabeth (William Cameron), and Jane (m. George Edgar).
Many of these siblings came to Canada and the US (mostly Saint John NB, Boston, and Nova Scotia.). I have a listing of the children from all of the above marriages if you think that you might be part of the family. However I am writing this to see if any one has any information on James Fitzgerald and Margaret McCready’s parents. I am almost positive that they were born and could possibly have grown up in Ramelton, Co. Donegal, IRE. I am a decendant of one of James and Margarets children Margaret, who married Samuel T. Strang in Saint John NB.
If anyone has any information for me or needs any information please contact me at sho__ho@hotmail.com (2 underscores).
Thanks
Benjamin
