William L McCrady/McCready Ohio, Iowa

I am hoping that my brick wall may be helped by the info that I found in the Military rec I just recieved for William L McCrady/ McCready. He is the brother I believe of my 2 great grandmother Sarah Elizabeth McCrady Dray. Sarah's death cert. says that her father was Alex McCrady and Mother Mary Streets. The Military record for William L gives a small amount of info.(There is also a mention of him as Wm A. The A has been written over to form an L in most places.) Unfortunately there is No family data in the military rec. My 2 great grandfather Charles Dray was a witness in the record. (I know the family connection is strong because of this.) Wm stated he was born in Columbiana Co., Ohio and the birthday works out to 1828. I have tried and tried to find the father of Sarah's father Alex. Can't seem to straighten them out. I am very certain they come from the Washington Co., Pa. McCready's and I know some of them did go into this Ohio area. My McCreadys went to Iowa around the Van Buren Co., Area. William served in the Civil War from Iowa. William L spent some time after leaving the service with a nephew in Dodge Co., Nebraska - this appears to have been in the early 1870's. He also lived in La Grange Indiana for a very short time around the 1990 and then went to Milwaukee Wisconsin where he died. The are also witnesses John Woolson and William Doty in the record. Does any one have any idea's as to whom my Alex McCrady belongs. Thank You for you time in reading this.
