The McCreadys of County Down have been a hard nut for us to crack, however there are some interesting similaries with your posting.

We are trying to locate the James McCready clan from Conlig, County Down near Bangor and Newtownards. We know that the Davidsons,Wallaces McKees, McGimpseys and McCreadys along with Stoupes are all related.

Your Davidson and McCready jumped right out at us.
My ggrandfather Matthew McKee married to Jane Wallace had an 18 year old James Stevenson residing with them in the 1911 census.

Alexander McCready, a 14 year old listed as a farm servant resided with an Alexander McGimpsey in the 1911 Census and we are unable to connect this.

We have tracked the Wallaces and McKees to Allegheny County, Pa and Montreal, Canada as well as Ohio and California but we are stymied on the McCreadys.

Have you made any McCready connections to Conlig, or to any of the aforementioned surnames.

Pauline Sullivan
