Maybe so....I'll do a little more research. One of Holton McCready's brothers was James Arthur McCready, so "Arthur" may have trickled down from your GGrandfather's name. I don't see any Mardens or Sowers in our family line; I see Jewett (as in Sarah Orne Jewett's family), as well as Estabrook and McCarick. I'll get back to you! /Sue Blake
