Thanks for responding so quickly. I looked at the birthdate of "my" Susan McCready (ca 1819) and know that she was not a brother to the Edward that was killed in the train accident, but still may be from this family line. Almost all family "lore" has some truth to them with tidbits added through the ages. I will try some of the leads you suggested. Too bad that I did not get interested in family history until all of my grandparents were deceased!
