Hey Dennis!

What time frame are you talking about with James and John.
My grt-grandfather was a McCroskey. Not sure about first name - my aunt says Patrick, but my uncle always said Jim or James. He had a brother and both worked on the railroad. Jim or Pat, was shot playing poker in the old town of Los Alamos, New Mexico (not the current Los Alamos but the old town near Las Vegas, NM) He died before my grandfather was born in 1883. It's very probable that his brother went on out west. That information and a rough tin-type of him is all I have. My grandfather always said his real father came from Scotland. My grandfather died when I was very young, so I never had a chance to ask about Mr. McCroskey. Please email me at sowen@rose.edu
