HI Everyone,
I have gathered far more info since March. Here is an update on the family I am researching. I seek ANY living ancestors:
William McDevitt, b. abt 1795 in Ireland and his wife, Mary, b. abt 1805 in Ireland. They had the following children:
Ellen, b. abt 1834, Ireland
James, b. abt 1835, Ireland
Mary, b. abt 1836, Ireland
Susan, b. abt 1838, Philadelphia
William H., b. abt 1840, Philadelphia
Joseph, b. abt 1844, Philadelphia
Agnes, b. abt 1848, Philadelphia
This family is found together in the 1860 census. After that, in 1870, I do not know whom the sisters or brothers married. James, apparently, stayed single.
William H. went on to marry an Ellen (surname unknown) about 1869, and they had:
John, b. 1870
Annie, b. 1875
Ellen, b. 13 Aug 1877
Mary, b. Aug 1879
Margaret, b. 6 Nov 1884
Margaret married John J. Strohmeier, and had Agnes Strohmeier.
Mary married a Mr. Reed and had Marie.
I do not know who John, Annie or Ellen married, and have been unable to narrow it down.
Anyway, this info at least takes us back to the siblings of William H. McDevitt, and if anyone has info on these folks, it would be greatly appreciated.
