Wendy, I too am related to a McDevitt family of PA. I descend form a James and Mary, both born in Ireland about 1824 and 1827. They apparently stopped in NYC, had a child, John, then came to PA about 1852. There, they had children Rosanna, James (Jr) Sarah (Sallie - my Ggrandmother who married EDWARD C. WELSH and moved to Roanoke, VA) a Patrick who died young, Leo whom my Dad's cousins knew, a Mary and another John. In your travels through the PA records do you know of these McDevitts? Any relation?
