James & Mary in PA, 1850s w/kids Rose, Sarah, Leo, etc

I too am related to a McDevitt family of Philly, PA. There seems to be a high concentration there. I descend from a James and Mary, both born in Ireland about 1824 and 1827. They apparently stopped in NYC, had a child, John, then came to PA about 1852. There, they had children Rosanna, James (Jr) Sarah (Sallie - my Ggrandmother who married EDWARD C. WELSH and moved to Roanoke, VA) a Patrick who died young, Leo, a Mary and another John. Any relation? Searching for any info - especially marriage records of Sarah and Ed Welsh (Welch) about 1881 in PA.
