Dia Duit Charlie,

Saw your posting and was curious to know if you have any information that could help me in my search.

My McDevitt history starts with JOHN McDEVITT (b.1820) from County Derry Ireland and his wife NANCY BRADLEY (b.1823) from County Donegal Ireland in the 1800's

They came to America (date unknown) and were a in Pennsylvania for a time. Their two oldest sons JOHN PETER McDEVITT (b. 1854) WILLIAM J. McDEVITT (b.1855) were born there.

They moved to CLINTON COUNTY, Iowa where their remaining children were born. Marjorie (b. 1858), Ellen J. (1860),MaryAnn "Mayme" (b.1861), James (b. 1867), Margaret (b. ?).

William J. McDevitt is my g-grandfather. He married Margaret DUNLAVEY (Dunlavy) in 1880

I would appreciate any information you might be able to pass on regarding the McDevitt family in general and my branch of the tree if you have any information regarding them.

Thank you in advance!

Slan!
