Hello

I am searching for info on my great, great, great grandparents, Cornelius and Anne (McHenry) McDevitt. This is the info I have on them so far:

He was born in Ireland in 1814, she was born in Ireland in 1818. They married in PA. in 1839 and moved to Mobile, Alabama and then to Mississippi. Their children were as follows:

John Andrew b. (AL) 1840
Cornelius Peter b. (AL) 1843
Mary E. b. (MS) 1845
Joseph D. b. (MS) 1847
Margaret E. b. (MS) 1849
Catherine E. b. (MS) 1853

I would love any info that anyone might have as to what counties in Ireland they originally came from. I have been told that he maybe came from Tyrone and she from Antrim....but Donegal has also been mentioned. I have a copy of a letter that Cornelius Sr. wrote from Mississippi to his son in Alabama. Cornelius Sr. was a school teacher.

I would also love to have info on Cornelius and Anne's parents if anyone has any info.

I am making a trip to Ireland next year and want to visit the counties that my ancestors came from.

I will be glad to share the copy of the letter with anyone who is connected with my family.

Thank you.

Cheryl Parker Patterson
