Hi catherine
I believe almost all the mcdevitt's were tailers.I believe
Patrick arrived here abt 1825+/- 2yrs.His son Edward ,my gfather was also a tailer.Patrick married carrie rushton in 1855 at old saint mary's on 4th street.they had two girls baptized there and then moved to St. Paul's parrish 9th & catherine where the other ten children were baptized.Unfortuneately all st pauls marriages were written in latin so parc told me the records were impossible to read.
